Yoga Poses and Massage for Neuropathy

These two very short video clips comes from eHowHealth and a massage therapist from Athens, Georgia respectively (sorry, the intro advert to the first, is almost as long as the video itself - very irritating!). The first shows some simple yoga exercises to help with neuropathy in the feet. It's important to stress that if it hurts, don't do it; the intention is to relieve the symptoms, not make them worse. Furthermore, the lady doesn't say how often you should repeat the tasks but on the other hand, what's the harm in trying something like this? It's not difficult and if it helps, you've gained something, if not, you've lost nothing.

The second clip concerns massaging neuropathic feet and the therapist definitely errs on the side of caution. You can tell, he's fairly wary about massaging in areas where nerves are damaged but his advice to take it gently sounds reasonable. It's refreshing to find an alternative practitioner who doesn't make unfounded claims for his skills - in that way, far less unnecessary harm can be done. That said, we all try to massage our own feet and sometimes it really helps but it would surely be better if someone else could do it for us!
