I'm sorry, I almost never take a stand based on a video clip - there can be so many variables that we don't get to see but in this case, I ask you to put yourself in the position of someone smoking marijuana to ease their neuropathy symptoms (there is no suggestion that this is the case here). A neighbour might catch a whiff outside and phone the police. A SWAT team arrives...
Only in America! is too simple a claim because this could happen in lots of countries around the world! However, even if this pot smoker was a hardened criminal; he didn't have time to get to the ground before he was shot dead. Does someone deserve to die for smoking a herb?
*Having said all that, I do realise that a YouTube clip almost never shows all sides to a story and this one is not shown to criticise the Utah police as such but to warn people of a worst possible case scenario, if you smoke marijuana in a state or country that forbids it. It's not fair if you're in extreme pain and the laws should be changed re medical marijuana but you have to face your own personal reality and it may not be worth jail time or worse.
Please let me know if this video is removed and then I'll remove the post - a story without evidence has little value - apparently much like this man's life.
