Today's post from cannabis.net (see link below) gives you a choice most other sites will avoid and that is which particular strain of cannabis may be the best option to help with your neuropathic pain. It unashamedly gives you the information you may have been looking for but will rarely find and it's also unashamedly mainly aimed at smokers of cannabis (a proven method of reducing nerve pain) and you have to be able to deal with that aspect of it. However, for many people the negatives associated with smoked cannabis may well be removed by the benefits you may receive. That said, the recommended strains here are also available in edible form for those who can't face smoking cannabis. It's also ironic that the negative side effects of Lyrica (pregabalin) which is sadly the most commonly prescribed drug for neuropathy, are more harmful than those of marijuana. An interesting post, to make of as you will!

Neuropathy and Medical Marijuana - Strain Guide
Neuropathy Marijuana Treatment Posted by HighChi on Saturday May 7, 2016
During a recent date I was on, this man shares with me that his mother has Neuropathy. Neuropathy, what’s that I asked? As he describes this illness and the pain she endures daily, I immediately had to research this illness. I knew there had to be a strain that would help her more than all the medicine they were pumping into her that wasn’t helping.
Q. What is Neuropathy?
Neuropathy is a common condition caused by damage to the nerves or a disruption between the nerves throughout the body and the central nervous system.
Q: What are the first symptoms of Neuropathy.
A: The first symptoms include numbness, tingling and pain, unsteadiness when standing or walking, muscle weakness (including weak ankles), or cramps and faintness your doctor may have mentioned the term neuropathy or peripheral neuropathy. Neuropathy is nerve damage that often results in pain. Peripheral neuropathy is neuropathy that occurs in the extremities and may cause pain, such as foot pain or hand pain.
For most people, this pain affects the extremities—the feet and hands.
Some of the most common side effects of LYRICA are dizziness, blurry vision, weight gain, sleepiness, trouble concentrating, swelling of your hands and feet, dry mouth, and feeling “high.”
Strains….. Please take my pain away….
White Widow is the most famous strain in the world. The main medical use for White Widow is pain, stress and insomnia. Chronic pain suffers are in constant pain. Relief from this pain results in feelings of creative, happy, relaxed and creative and since you’re not in pain, you’ll have a surge of energy as well from the beautiful White Widow.
Purple Kush is in the top 10 of most powerful strains worldwide. This is not for a newbie. NO, this strain zaps that pain away and is PERFECT for those who suffer from neuropathy and or severe chronic pain. The action of using this strain for pain results in not only pain relief, but happiness and euphoric feeling.. Basically you feel better and high!
Chem Dawg is the most popular hybrid strain with a THC count of 18-26%! Chem Dawg is known best for treating chronic pain, depression, anxiety and chronic migraines. So anyone suffering from this and uses Chem Dawg will not only treat their pain, but will feel happy, uplifted (not depressed), relaxed (less pain) and have energy to do daily activities that they usually struggle with. Chem Dawg is strong. If this is a strain that will help you, I HIGHLY suggest building your tolerance for a couple of weeks with a milder Indica or Hybrid.
Super Silver Haze will definitely take your pain away with a THC count of 21. This is a perfect option for pain suffers with high stress levels looking to feel happy, energetic and HIGH.
Jack Herer has a great CBD count of 0.03-0.2% and THC count of 16-23%. Jack Herer has the same effects as the above mentioned, what I love is the blissful, clear headed created feeling.
If you are in pain but smoking isn’t your thing, check out our edible recipe’s with these preferred strains.
